What To Do When Your Blog's Content is Being Copied

Earlier I made a tutorial on How To Disable Copy and Paste in Blogger Blog this worked perfectly but as I said in the post  "this works on every web browser but does not work when "Do not allow any site to run JavaScript" is enabled in Google Chrome browser. Soon I will post more articles on how to protect your blog's content in both Google Chrome browser." Although all this happens because the Internet is an open platform, so it is easy to copy anyone's post and paste it into your blog.

At first when you find out that a content from your blog has been copied by someone you will be so pissed off that you wouldn't know what to do it's no use crying over spilt milk, all you need to do is take a deep breath and take it out settling the content theft case is just right here!

What To Do When Your Blog's Content is Being Copied

What Impact Does my Blog Have When Someone Copies my Content?

When your content is being copied, you are at risk of losing your search and page rankings. In most cases, copied content from your blog will firstly get indexed by Google and in this case, your content becomes a duplicate. So Google may lower your blog rankings or may even not include your content in its index. Now you don't get credits for your hard work and precious time spent in writing all those quality contents because the now goes to the copycat.

How Do I Know When Someone Copies my Content?

If you suspect that your content might have been copied and you want to find out, all you need to do is copy one sentence or few words from any of your post and search it on Google with double quotes ("what you want to search") placed around the sentence or word. You can also monitor your blog's content using Google Alert.

What Do I Do First?

Send a Terse but Polite email: The first step you need to do is sending a polite e-mail to the webmaster or the site owner informing that He/She had copied your content. Before that make a list of all the links which your copied content is been found and if you don't know what to send then copy and send the below message.

To whom it may concern,

Please take down all of the arts and crafts pages from your website as you have blatantly copied both our pictures and content. I have listed the following links in violation below.
